Upon entering Kelley/McIlnay Chiropractic, our receptionist will make you feel welcomed and treat you as a member of our family. If you haven’t already printed and filled out the Online Forms under “New Patients” from the website, then we will request that you complete them at our office. This paperwork provides us with your health history and information on your condition. This is only done on your first visit, as it allows us to create a patient file of yourself. Any subsequent visits, you can walk in and get your needed treatment from the Doctor.
Consultation
Next, you will have a consultation with the Doctor to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, and potential treatment options. This initial visit is designed for the Doctor to learn more about you, your condition, and expectations to determine how chiropractic care can meet your goals.
The Consultation on your first visit to our office sets Chiropractors apart from many other health professions. As a Chiropractor, we will genuinely listen to your conditions and thoroughly gather the needed information to accurately guide toward an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.
examination
After your consultation, our Doctors will perform a complete chiropractic examination testing your reflexes and flexibility. Other standard neurological, orthopedic, postural, and physical tests will be performed as well. However, nothing will be done in our office without your consent. The examination process is provided to even further confirm the diagnosis that we have gathered from the consultation. We truly feel, the more accurate our diagnosis is of your condition, the faster your road to recovery will be.
Report of Findings
Once the information is collected and examinations are performed, our Doctors will give you a detailed report of all findings and answer any questions including:
- How can you help me?
- How often do I need to come in?
- How long will it take to get better?
After reviewing your health history and examining your spine, our Doctors will discuss recommendations and notify you if your condition requires care with other providers. We will provide the best treatment and wellness program for your needs. If we cannot help you with your condition, we will proudly refer you somewhere that can. That is why our goal in this office is to get people better, NOT to take your money and move on to the next person.
treatment
At the conclusion of this initial appointment, you can choose to experience your first treatment. This may include spinal adjustments, physical therapy, and/or soft tissue release. Treatment is interactive, so you can express concerns about the different styles of treatment anytime. We use many different types of adjustments ranging from low force techniques to more aggressive techniques depending on the patient’s needs. We always have the patient begin their treatment by laying them on a heat pad to help relax the injured area. At the end of the adjustment, the patient could have extra therapies performed on them ranging from Interferential Therapy, Cold Laser, Ultrasound, or Kinesiology Taping.
